About the Forum in Sydney

The New Pentecost Forum is an affirmation of faith-based
participation in public and political life as well as diversity
and inclusiveness within the church. Each year the meeting
is on Pentecost Sunday. read more ...
Your space
This is your event! You are invited to create this
vision at the Forum by planning a workspace or "gathering",
facilitating a spontaneous gathering, and taking responsibility
for its promotion and success. It will be your space to be
creative, to network, to strategise and plan action. Other
planned initiatives: information stalls; coffee and books
stalls.
Speakers
Rev
Dr Jojo Fung is a Malaysian Jesuit priest who ministers
to Malaysia's Orang Asli indigenous people.

Sr Susan Connelly is a Sister of St Joseph,
a Catholic religious congregation founded by Mary MacKillop,
and well known advocate for East Timor.

Mr Tony Kevin is a distinguished former
Australian ambassador to Poland and Cambodia and 2003 "International
Whistleblower of the Year".

Mr Graeme Mundine is a Bundjalung man from
Northern NSW. He is the Executive Secretary of the National
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Council.

Venue: Australian Catholic University,
North Sydney Campus (40 Edward St) - click here for
internative map, direction
and location.
Program: Registration opens from 12pm.
First lecture starts at 1pm. Public lecture starts at
4.30pm. Forum will finish at 6.30pm. The Forum will
start and end on time.
Cost: - $20/$40 (or whatever you can
afford). Public lecture: entry by donation.

Friday 25 May - "Stirrings of our Times:
Spiritual Traditions and Peace Making"
A Lunchtime Forum with Dr Jojo Fung sj
The challenge of our time is to find a non-violent
spirituality that crosses the boundaries of religious
traditions and diverse cultures. Jojo Fung will explore
the ways various traditions contribute and pose dangers
to this project. Organised by the UTS Catholic Chaplaincy
and UCSM (UTS Catholic Student Movement).
